Story
Salim was my father. This album carries his name.
He played the benju, sang, wrote poetry and recorded music. Through Ferdows, he preserved the voices of others. Here, I give his memory a place in my own work.
But this is not a biography set to music. It is about my father, my mother and what their lives mean to mine.
Nari
My mother's name is Narges. My father called her Nari.
He described her as the love of his life. I kept that name as a track title because it belongs here, within an album that carries his name. His story includes hers. Mine includes them both.
Vahed
Vahed comes from his full name, Salim Vahed Davoodi. It opens the album with another part of the name I knew.
Salim
My father died in 2025. His music remains, alongside the memories that belong to us as a family.
This album is my response to those memories. Not everything needs to be explained. Some of it stays in the music.

Story
Nari was my father's name for my mother, Narges, the love of his life and the subject of much of his poetry.
The track brings together his spoken poetry and singing in Baluchi, drawn from interviews and recordings he sent me while I was studying music in 2024. In these words, he calls her to come to him, to hold her in his eyes.
