Human music. Human artists.
Our requirements for recordings, artwork and artist profile photographs.
Human-made recordings
Artanrecords does not accept fully AI-generated music or masters. We work with human-made music and human creative performance. Describe how the recording was made and disclose AI involvement so we can review its role; uncertainty is discussed before a release is accepted.
Artwork is reviewed separately
Using AI in release artwork is not, by itself, a reason for rejection. You must have the necessary rights and permissions, disclose AI-generated elements and meet the artwork requirements of the release and its delivery services. Do not use artwork that misrepresents another person or infringes their rights.
Real people in artist profiles
Artist profile photographs must show the real artist. AI-generated portraits, synthetic identities and face replacements are not accepted as artist profile images. Provide a photograph you are authorised to use; ordinary photographic editing must not misrepresent the person.
A considered review
We review the recording, credits and the creative process. We may ask for contributor confirmation, session information, stems or other relevant provenance through an agreed private process. A detection score alone is not treated as conclusive proof of authorship.
If something needs clarification
We may pause a submission and ask questions before proceeding. An artist can explain the tools used and provide supporting information. Do not send private session files or sensitive documents through the public enquiry form.
